ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
Purpose:
Member of Factory Leadership team, the Factory Logistics Manager is responsible for operational and strategic management of transport and warehousing network design for all materials and finished products, including factory and 3PLs, as well as functional resource management to ensure efficient factory operations. The role of Factory Logistics Manager is to provide for the planning, implementation, continuous development, and control of the efficient, cost-effective flow of all inventory and related information, from the receipt and handling of raw materials through manufacturing to OTIF finished goods delivery to final customers.
Reports to: Factory Manager
Reporting Level: Manages 2 direct reports / 12 indirect reports

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
Tactical logistics planning: Identify transportation, warehouse, equipment, labour, and inventory resources required to meet requirements and support the organisational strategic objectives. Translate those requirements into the actual logistics network design. Asses the major constraints limiting logistics activities to remove bottlenecks and enhance flexibility. Develop a logistics master plan how to meet the strategic objectives within the constraints at lowest total cost.
Manufacturing support: Support manufacturing operations by establishing and maintaining an orderly and economic flow of materials, components, and work-in-progress inventory as required by production schedules. Includes the responsibility for inventory replenishment, transportation, storage, handling, sorting, and sequencing materials needed to support manufacturing requirements.
Plan and control deliveries: Ensure a continuous supply of finished product to its customers. Includes the responsibility to coordinate all activities related to providing customer service: order processing, inventory deployment, storage and handling, and outbound transportation.
People management: Design organizational structure, team responsibilities, and job tasks to meet the requirements of logistics processes in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Recruit, develop, challenge, and retain diverse talent with the required skills and competencies. Continuously improve the work environment to enhance team’s well-being, satisfaction, and productivity.
Process design: Designing the physical processes, storage location and layout, determining team skills and knowledge. Determining equipment, planning and control systems and calculating the logistics capacities.
Methods and standards: Developing methods and standards defining operations and process performance, in alignment with Group and local standards and procedures.
Scheduling activities: Organizing, identifying, designing the sequencing of processing tasks, and assign the necessary resources for the efficient operations.
Process analysis and improvement: Solving process problems by investigating symptoms and causes, performing diagnostics, and implementing solutions. Analysing business processes to eliminate wastes, errors, and productivity gaps and to search for improvements.
Cost management: Budgeting cost and resources required to achieve logistics objectives. Performing ongoing expenditure control and trade-off analysis between cost and performance. Developing cost-optimisation opportunities and initiatives.
Risk control and management: Evaluate risks associated with logistics operations and develop detailed contingency plans.
Managing third-party logistics providers: Includes the responsibility for selection, negotiation, and pricing, contracting, and the supplier relationship management.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Educated to Bachelor or master’s degree level
Warehouse & Inventory management
Transport management
Operations and project management
Process improvement and performance management
Understanding of customs and export/ import regulations
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, SAP
People management experience
High level of personal responsibility and accountability for results
Good collaboration and presentation skills
Proficient in English, advanced Swedish a benefit.
