We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer eager to join a team where your skills will ensure the scalability and stability of our product.
The Mediatool infrastructure has evolved organically from a single web server to one with a few side services. We plan to add more to this and as we do, we want to make sure our infrastructure is of high quality.
We want to streamline deployment of the app with zero downtime, smooth version rollback, have the ability to easily spin up test environments etc. In addition to that there are multiple workflows for the product team that can be improved. 20 developers will love you and praise your work if you manage to achieve this.
To be suited for this job, you should be excited about getting into the configuration of today while also having the vision of where we you want to take the infrastructure. While we already have ideas on where to go, we expect your experience and knowledge to be the foundation for us to make the best decisions on what services and configurations to use.
Responsibilities
Create and manage the infrastructure for the Mediatool app
Create a stable deployment pipeline so that deploys are automatic
Make sure ping times are low regardless of where in the world our users are located
Improve the workflows for our dev team and through that the life of our developers.
Manage our CI server (currently Circle CI)

Skills and qualifications
3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer hosting a similar app
3 years of JavaScript coding experience

We are looking for a passionate developer, eager to join a team where you will be able to see on a week to week basis how your work is contributing to the development of the application and the experience of the users. You will also get the opportunity to explore the AI technology that is taking the world with storm at the moment since we are actively exploring how it can improve the experience of our users and for ourselves.

You will start out by learning the code base by building new features or making improvements. As time passes and you become more comfortable in our environment, you will be expected to take more part in the development of the platforms’ infrastructure with the purpose of creating reusable, well tested, efficient and readable code.

The application we create is in a growing state and there will be lots of opportunities to create new features and functionality. We already have a product vision filled with new exciting features and are also open to new ideas from customers and colleagues.

Our code is mainly built with a functional programming paradigm and around event sourcing. Familiarity with these concepts is desirable but not required, you will learn as you go.


Responsibilities

- Adding new commands and queries that will make up new features of our application

- Implementing frontend modules and logic that will give the user a nice experience of our application.

- Making sure the correct security configurations are made for new features.

- Contribute to decisions on how features should be implemented and designed.

Skills and qualifications

- An engineering degree OR a minimum of 2 years of documented work experience as a software developer building web applications.

- 2 years experience either of Node.js backend technologies or ReactJS.

- Professional experience with nosql databases, most relevant are MongoDB and Redis.

- Experience with or an interest in functional programming

As a Team Lead, you will oversee the development process, from understanding the code base to guiding the team in implementing new features and enhancements. While you will be coding yourself, your leadership will be crucial in maintaining our application's growth trajectory, introducing innovative features, and integrating valuable feedback from users and colleagues alike.

Our application is developed with a strong emphasis on functional programming and event sourcing. While familiarity with these paradigms is beneficial, it's not mandatory; we value the ability to learn and adapt more.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and coordinate the team to deliver new features and functionalities on time.

- Ensure the development of reusable, well-tested, efficient, and readable code.

- Oversee the implementation of front-end modules and backend logic for an optimal user experience.

- Enforce security best practices for new features.

- Participate in and guide architectural and design decisions.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven leadership experience or a strong background in software development, with an interest to be a team lead.

- An engineering degree or a minimum of 3 years of documented experience in software development, with a preference for experience in web application projects.

- Proficiency in Node.js or ReactJS.

- Knowledge of No databases, especially MongoDB and Redis.
