At Hero Gaming, we’re looking for an experienced Frontend Developer to join one of our product development teams ????.
You have the option of either joining our team in our sleek offices located in Sweden (Malmö), Malta (St Julian’s), Spain (Marbella) or remotely within UTC -1 to UTC +3 time zones ????.
Reporting to the Business Owner (mix of product owner and project manager), together with a team of heroes you will be responsible for:
Improving performance by finding and fixing bottlenecks in both server and client parts of our application stack.
Adopting GraphQL. This includes schema design, migration from existing REST networking and state management with Redux.
Legacy project maintenance: upgrading dependencies, implementing Server Side Rendering, migrating to GraphQL, etc.
Improving product SEO with the help of Contentful CMS.
Conversion and UX improvements.

Do you have what it takes? ???? This is what we’re looking for:
Mandatory skills are general web development and programming skills at an expert level.
In addition, we need you to have experience (the more the better) with the following:
React. Expert knowledge. Hooks, Suspense, and server-side rendering.
Emotion + Theme UI. Using theming to build design systems and UI kits.
React Router. Mostly v5, but we have apps that still use v3.
NodeJS. Mainly for server-side rendering of the React app and the GraphQL server.
GraphQL (Apollo Server + URQL). Developing proxy for existing REST API services and migrating frontend apps from Redux.

We also use the following technologies and having experience with them is a bonus, but not a requirement ????:
Redux. Would help to navigate and refactor legacy code. Loads of custom middlewares, obscure data fetching with Redux Effects library.
npm. As in “package registry”. We have plenty of private packages and we deal with publishing them on a regular basis.
Webpack. We use Razzle to avoid dealing with Webpack directly and aim to migrate to NextJS, yet being a Senior Webpack Config Engineer comes handy at times.
Circle CI, GitHub Actions, ESLint, Prettier, Semantic Release and other tools to avoid doing boring things and do interesting things instead. We’re lazy and robots must suffer instead of us.
Cloud infrastructure. We deploy our products (and backing services) as Docker containers to AWS ECS and Kuberenetes so one might have a chance to perform occasional DevOps blessings.
Headless CMS. We use Contenful as our content management system.

Hero Gaming is looking for a passionate Commercial Designer that is comfortable with managing and coordinating large projects to join our international design team.
As a market-first driven company, we work with other industry experts in various countries, encouraging innovation and collaboration to help shape our brands. With multiple brands across the globe, we’re now strengthening our presence in Japan and are looking for a motivated and self driven visual designer.
As our new colleague, you’d be focusing on the Japanese market, producing high quality visual designs and collaborating with agencies and partners along with other departments inside Hero Gaming.
You have the option of working remotely, or joining our team in our sleek offices located in Sweden (Malmö) or Malta (St Julian’s).
RESPONSIBILITIES
The role requires you to quickly grasp new concepts, produce visual designs for our commercial channels, coordinating professionals efficiently to grow further success in the Japanese market.
Activities include:
Design visual concepts for all commercial channels
Coordinate various design projects from conception all the way through to delivery
Collaborate with stakeholders including external partners and freelancers
Define and execute design and marketing projects for the Japanese market, while supporting product development
Source external partners when needed, to achieve our project goals
Ensure projects are delivered on-time, meeting scope and budget
Assist with project scope and objectives, involving stakeholders, the design team and management as needed
Gather and organise information (design material, documentation) that partners need to execute projects
Work with designers to conceptualise and iterate on user journeys, mockups and designs for a variety of devices
Attend conferences and training to maintain professional proficiency

REQUIREMENTS
Strong visual design skills as well as good communication and organisation is crucial for this position, as you will play a key role in collaborating with the key stakeholders, design team and external partners.
Requirements include:
Minimum of 3 years design experience
Design agency or similar experience
An open-minded designer with a strong design background
Commercial & digital design experience
Ideally have experience with designing for the Japanese market
Experience with design software (Figma, Adobe Suite)
Ideally have experience with online casinos, pachinko/pachislot
Ambitious, proactive and structured in your approach to problem-solving
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Confidence with providing requirements and giving feedback
