Efficient processes are the foundation of any successful platform business. As we build trusted, scalable, and seamless platforms, we’re looking for a Business Developer to join our Platform Efficiency team. In this role, you’ll help drive operational excellence by identifying improvement areas, supporting scalable innovation, and enabling smarter ways of working across our platform operations.

What sets you apart is your solid experience in the operational side of platform businesses—this is essential for the role. You know what it takes to run efficient, scalable platform processes and have actively contributed to improving them. You’ve worked across functions to drive platform efficiency and understand how automation and AI can reduce manual work, collaborating closely with digital teams to bring these solutions to life. You’re familiar with tools like process mining and telemetry to uncover inefficiencies and guide smarter ways of working. You simplify complexity, navigate evolving contexts with confidence, and are energized by solving real problems in real operations. Your responsibilities
• Drive improvements in platform processes, such as payments, customer support, dispute resolution, and service provider management.
• Collaborate across functions like product, tech, finance, and legal to develop and improve end-to-end processes and close capability gaps.
• Use data and insights, process mining and telemetry to identify inefficiencies and support the development of AI tools to streamline operations and reduce manual work, in partnership with the digital team.
• Coordinate transversal automation efforts with the digital team to streamline operations and reduce manual work.
• Support a culture of continuous improvement and scalable innovation across the marketplaces.
Our team within IKEA
You’ll report to the Platform Efficiency Leader and will work alongside a growing team of business developers who bring a unique mix of deep IKEA knowledge and fresh perspectives. And as we grow, you’ll also help shape future roles and capabilities in the team and across the platform business.
Your team is part of the New Business Platform Operations department, supporting the platform business with process management, strategic partner relationship management, payment solutions, customer support, and efficient steering capabilities.

Bring strong experience running, improving and developing business, services, features, and user experience in home furnishing e-commerce, product marketplaces and platform business.

Your responsibilities
Drive marketplace growth and profitability by operating, improving and developing the business model, offer, revenues models, and user experience — optimizing for strong engagement, trust, liquidity, commercial and profitability performance across different maturity life stages.
Lead cross-functional squads from the business side, partnering with product, tech, data, UX, and marketing to identify opportunities, shape and deliver high-impact solutions / initiatives and ensure the follow-up to deliver objectives/goals.
Define, own and act on key KPIs, including engagement, retention, and conversion metrics — using insights to identify opportunities, steer priorities, and track business - P&L impact.
Champion users experience, owning end-to-end journeys and ensuring continuous user improvement and optimisation through research, testing and iterating.
Engage internal and external stakeholders, including markets and subject matter experts, to gather inputs, validate assumptions, verify solutions and drive adoption. Support the deployment teams with readiness, learning, and communication activities to ensure smooth implementation of the new features, and services in the countries.
Share learnings and best practices across teams and functions to contribute to the broader commercial and operational health of the platform.

The business developers report to the Category Offer and Selling leader. You’ll drive the operation, improvement, growth and development of the marketplace based on business priorities as part of B-PDEX squads (business, product, data, engineer and UX) and together others within the New Business Platform and beyond.
The Category team is at the heart of shaping IKEA’s second-hand marketplace — using insights and trends to grow the IKEA retail business at lower cost, strengthen the brand, extend product life, and unlock new revenue streams.
