DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an Engineering Manager for a hybrid position in our Malmö office to take on a unique role that combines deep technical ownership with people leadership. You will be both a strategic architect and a leader of leaders, guiding high-performing teams while shaping the architectural evolution of our provisioning platforms, the foundation of our global messaging business. Your leadership will ensure our teams are not only delivering today but are also building for the future.
Technical & Architectural Leadership
Own the Provisioning Architecture across the messaging domain, ensuring scalability, reliability, compliance, and automation.
Define and evolve APIs, workflows, and data models for customer onboarding, provisioning, and lifecycle management.
Partner with senior architects and engineers to design next-generation distributed systems running in the cloud
Provide technical guidance on microservice architectures, Kubernetes, Istio/service mesh, cloud-native design, and observability.
Lead architectural reviews and make critical trade-offs balancing performance, cost, and scalability.

People & Organizational Leadership
Lead and grow multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment with product strategy and architectural vision.
Build leadership capacity within your teams; mentor engineers and engineering managers to become future technical leaders.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and clear ownership.

Delivery & Execution

REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience leading engineering organizations (50+ engineers, ideally across multiple teams).
Proven experience guiding the architectural direction of large-scale distributed systems.

Technical Expertise
Deep knowledge of distributed systems, high-throughput transactional platforms, and global-scale SaaS/CPaaS.
Practical experience with major cloud platform like AWS, Kubernetes, and service meshes.
Strong background in software engineering with languages such as Go, Java, Typescript, NodeJS, and React.
Solid understanding of provisioning, identity management, and API-first architectures.
Strong knowledge of security, compliance, and data protection requirements in telecom-scale systems.

Leadership Skills
Demonstrated ability to scale engineering teams while retaining technical depth.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect executives, business stakeholders, and technical leaders.
Fluent in English (Swedish a plus).

Nice to Have
Experience leveraging AI assisted development tools (Claude, Gemini, Cursor, etc.) into engineering workflows.
Experience with telecom provisioning systems or carrier-grade high-transaction platforms.
Familiarity with messaging protocols (SMS, RCS, WhatsApp, etc.).
Prior experience balancing architecture and people leadership in a high-growth SaaS or CPaaS company.

We are now looking for a Quality Engineer to our SMS team in Malmö, Sweden. The team is responsible for a platform that delivers billions of transactions on a monthly basis with requirements of high resiliency, redundancy and speed.
As our new Test Engineer, you are joining forces with our successful SMS team, working with software quality engineering and test strategies for different testing phases. Teaming up with a newly formed team of test engineers, you are driving constant improvement of testing within the product line, which means that you have a huge impact on the way our products are being tested!
In this role, you'll be:
Supporting different teams with common approaches to enable them to become better at testing. Be it from helping them build automated test solutions or discussing methodologies around testing.
Building a continuous integration pipeline, providing strategies around functional, non-functional, security, and scalability testing to achieve high-quality standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality engineering processes and standards to ensure quality is built into the product from the start.

We are looking for Senior Backend Developer – Java to join the team in Malmö office.
In this exciting role, you'll help design, develop, validate, and deploy changes to our globally deployed SMS/MMS Rest API, which has been delivering top-notch service for over 10 years! Today we have an impressive roster of very large and very demanding clients that are expecting that all their requests will be accepted no matter the circumstances, and who will not accept any lost messages.
The team's ongoing challenge is exactly once message delivery under normal conditions and at least once during tough times—all while achieving very high messages rates, large volumes, low latencies, and outstanding availability.
This role requires commuting to Malmö office on a weekly basis.

Requirements
Develop, architect and scale customer account and access control solutions that are at the foundation of Sinch's products. Work with end-to-end solutions, from the portals allowing customers to manage their accounts, access keys and permissions, to the backend services implementing the account structure and making access control decisions.
You will be part of a cross functional team that sets its own objectives and goals with responsibility for every stage of the product development life cycle - from planning and design, to implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring and maintenance. You build it, you run it!
Your work will be focused around the common platform that makes up the core of the different product lines. The code you write will be used by many different teams and is a key enabler for delivering Sinch's products. You will play a key role in our Rich Messaging Product team to ensure Sinch gets access to the highest demanded OTT Messaging Services globally with a particular focus in the APAC market, such as KakaoTalk, Viber, WeChat, QQ, and Weibo. Coupled with this you will support the need for RCS reach influencing in region for Sinch access and general market adoption.

This role reports to the Rich Messaging Product Director, based at our US HQ in Atlanta. We are flexible with location but our R&D team is based in Malmö which is also the prefered location.
As our Product Manager for Chat Applications you will:
Establish contacts at all the major OTT channel/application providers
Accountable for the product lifecycle and P&L for the channel
Provide / Present business cases
Excel in a customer facing role; Be the voice of the customer and represent needs
Well versed in the needs of developers for the channel
Manage delivery plans, risks, stakeholders
Deliver well documented, easy to consume plans
Coordinate between silo product managers to deliver a cohesive customer solution
Accountable to deliver global customer projects / services on time
Deliver exciting new messaging services to the largest enterprises in the world
Matrix manage global virtual teams in Sinch with our customers own complex teams
Communicate effectively internally on status, and own and challenges/issues
Lead and influence – have strong conviction / influence skills internal and external

In order to contribute to this role you have:
A hybrid experience from Product Manager / Business Development
Previous SaaS, Messaging, Solution Development roles including Developer API experience
A very good technical comprehension; must establish technical credibility ASAP

Think of this team as Sinch's Machine Learning incubation engine. We are determined to learn more from our data to provide even better services, products, and insights to our customers. This is where we first try out crazy new ideas on how to use ML to solve the real-life problems we see. When we have done an initial prototype, we hand over the projects to other teams in the organization - that means your role also includes setting up environments, deploy pipelines and train other teams. As our Full-stack Developer in AI you will:
Set up proof-of-concepts and bring those to the customer
Productize our cutting-edge algorithms with a back and front-end
Deploy machine learning code in the cloud
Actively keep your eye out for new ways that might add value to the products and/or the customers
You bring your ideas to the table to add new value for our customers

As a Software Engineer at Sinch you build and own web applications using the latest versions of React, TypeScript, JavaScript on the Frontend and Java and NodeJS on the Backend. Your mission as an Enterprise Architect with Sinch is to ensure our overall architecture supports our business objectives and strategy, short term and over time. As our new Enterprise Architect you will:
Regularly analyze which systems, functions and architecture capabilities that will be critical to our ability to develop cloud services with speed and quality, and in response propose and establish supporting architecture
Document and publish architecture guidelines spanning data, applications, infrastructure and technology architecture
Working closely with stakeholders throughout the company, typically leaders in Product, Engineering, Operations, Corporate IT, Security, Finance and Business Operations, to understand future business requirements and factor those into an architecture roadmap
Act as an internal champion of agreed architecture by communicating it, in writing via easy to understand and digest guidelines, and verbally by presenting and explaining to technical teams
Support technical teams with reviews of system designs proposals, assist them in building skills in relevant technologies, assist in migration planning towards target architecture
Work closely with other architects in different levels (enterprise, system and technical) and technical leaders to produce solution designs that satisfy solution requirements and are in line with our enterprise level architecture
