Job Description
As the Audio Director, you’ll work in collaboration with the creative team to define the artistic vision and technical roadmap of the game’s soundscape, voiceover, and music to support and expand the ambitious gameplay and narrative goals of the project.
We're offering a permanent position in Malmö, Sweden, with the flexibility to work partially from home (up to two days a week) under our Flexible Workplace Policy. Please apply using English, our company's primary language.

What you'll do
Working with the creative team to establish the audio vision and technical goals.

As a Lead Sound Designer, you will be a key player between sound design and game vision and will marry the two into one immersive sound experience. What you will do:
You will create and own the audio direction and sound implementation that aligns with the general game vision, established in collaboration with the game management team.
Set benchmarks for sound design quality for the internal and external teams.

You will be the lead to a currently small but senior team of sound designers and will mentor them to deliver on the assignments within the established quality standard.

Mixing – you will be the owner of the final quality in sound design and implementation.

Who you are:
Accomplished sound designer with 7+ years of experience working in the AAA video game industry, having produced work for at least one published title in a leading role.
You have leadership acumen, able to manage an in-house team of sound designers and guide them with qualified and constructive feedback.
Excellent sound design skills both in regard to technical understanding and creative solutions.
Experience working with one or more established game audio systems (F-Mod, WWise, Miles Sound System etc.).
Experience recording, integrating, and mixing audio for game projects.

Responsibilities
- Be a key sound design contributor within our Audio Team
- Create and implement sound assets like weapons, vehicles, items, characters, ambience, UI and VO
- Help planning and organizing audio tasks

- Occasional recording of sound effects and production planning

Requirements
- 3+ years experience creating sound for (AAA) games
- Experience implementing game audio using Wwise
- Proficiency with modern computer-based audio production tools such as Ableton Live, Cubase, Reaper, WaveLab, Sound Forge and similar
- Excellent and organizational, planning and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and share knowledge

- Experience working with vehicle audio is a plus

What you will do:??????
You will be owning the dialogue execution and quality for Project 007 and build a strong collaboration with the different disciplines, in order to create an authentic, James Bond-like player experience.
We will welcome your input for how dialogue creation and implementation can be streamlined between departments and throughout the project.
You will be the main player in the dialogue pipeline, from start to finish. That means:
Setting your quality mark early in the pipeline process, when dialogue is requested, by collaborating with writers and designers, and ensuring it has a natural flow and is dramatically believable.
In the incipient phase, you will give input on sonic qualities for casting, create prototypes and provide context during the authoring and directing stage, while collaborating with writers and designers in achieving the best common ground.
Once the voice over is received, you will edit, master and give feedback according to the requirements you ware a key part in setting.
You will own the asset management responsibility and integrate VO in Sweet.
In the implementation phase, you will collaborate with gameplay and level design and help them with implementing VO in our Glacier engine.
You will also have input on the way our editor is integrating dialogue, so the player experience and AI feel believable for every in-game decision taken by the player.
You will provide gameplay teams with perspectives on dialogue timing, propagation, and custom mastering.
Occasionally record temp VO and final VO in-house sessions with local actors when needed.

Who you are:
You are an accomplished sound designer with experience working primarily on dialogue sound design in the video games industry, for at least one published AAA title.
You are a great communicator and can efficiently collaborate with writers, narrative designers, level, game and sound designers.
You are a creative visionary who knows how important dialogue is to the game experience, can set the standard and create the culture for dialogue quality throughout not only the project, but also the studio.
You are efficient at finding solutions that can resolute occasional obstacles and get your stakeholders on the same page.
You are technically savvy and know or can easily learn your way around implementing VO in our Glacier engine when design teams require it.
You have experience recording, editing, mixing and evaluating VO delivered by vendors against specifications and creative bar.
You are detail oriented and up for managing sound libraries and administrating dialogue assets (in Sweet).
Expertise with audio editing in Reaper.
Expertise with voice over processing tools and techniques using creative sound design tools and techniques (i.e. - Waves, Native Instruments, iZotope)
Solid grasp of technical implementation and Wwise or F-Mod audio middleware.
Solid grasp of Blueprint Unreal, or any other scripting language, to create overviews.
You’re a fan of the James Bond universe and how its style should sound and feel like.

IO Interactive is looking for a Lead Sound Designer for our new AAA, unannounced, multiplayer title. Be part of our new exciting journey and give life to game vision by setting the audio direction and identity for this new, iconic title. You will be a key player between sound design and game vision and will marry the two into one immersive and realistic sound experience. We will count on you not only as a specialist sound designer, but also a creative thinker who sees opportunities within sound for achieving the best player experience.
As a Lead, apart from setting the audio direction, you will also get to mentor a team of sound designers, set out new standards for sound systems, and lead the team by example by being the go-to expert for sound design layout and implementation.

What you will do:
You will create and own the audio direction and sound implementation that aligns with the general game vision, established in collaboration with the game management team.
Set benchmarks for sound design quality for the internal and external teams.
Ensure that game audio playback is as intended and fit for commercial release.
Define workflows, structures and the organization of all audio related content.
Mentor and coach a team of sound designers to deliver on the assignments at hand and within the established quality standard.
Take part in the recruitment process and train new sound designers in the proper use of our tools.
Work with programmers and designers to ensure outstanding audio reflecting the game vision.
Use IOI’s proprietary tools setting up audio (Wwise, Glacier2).
Create prototypes and sound intentions, proving audio set-ups and technical choices while identifying needs.
Create sound effects and audio assets using pre-recorded material or synthesis, recording, foley recording etc.
Mixing – you will be the owner of the final quality in sound design and implementation.
Focus on technical development and implementation of sound, collaborate with audio programmers and spar on solution iteration.



Who you are:
Accomplished sound designer with 5+ years of experience working in the AAA film or video game industry, having produced work for at least one published title, in a leading role.
Experience leading or directing sound design for third person action games.
Multiplayer or co-op sound design experience.
You have leadership acumen, able to manage an in-house team of sound designers, and guide them with qualified and constructive feedback.
Excellent sound design skills both in regard to technical understanding and creative solutions.
Experience working with one or more established game audio systems (F-Mod, WWise, Miles Sound System etc.).
Professional recording experience – location and studio-based.
Experience recording, integrating and mixing audio for game projects.
You are both autonomous and collaborative, and can both set the direction for the team and also be a true team player.
Ability to respond elegantly to difficult creative changes, and work solution-oriented.



We would love if you had:
Experience supervising dialogue recording
Degree in sound/audio design.

We’re collaborating with Disney and Lucasfilm Games on a new story-driven open-world video game set in the beloved Star Wars galaxy. As a Voice Designer at Massive you’ll enhance, design, and create the immersive, authentic worlds Massive is known for; planning, organizing, implementing, and maintaining all voice-related content. In this role, you'll also be working closely with the audio, narrative, cinematic, production, and game-design teams to ensure that all voice-related content meets everyone's needs.

Responsibilities
Preparing and developing voice content for our game;
Organizing voice recordings in collaboration with production and third-party providers, according to the project schedule, for voice and performance capture sessions;
Carrying out post-production of voices;
Owning the voice database structure and maintenance;
Owner of and continually developing the voice pipeline;
Managing & integrating voice assets in the game, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and to spec;
Collaborating with localization on post-production in all languages;
Debugging, maintaining, and ensuring the final product quality.

Qualifications
You as a person
You're well organized and find the success of your team most important. You have the ability to anticipate and find solutions to problems that may occur within the team, a task you find inspiring. You hold a passion for interactive voice, and with your experience, know when and how to suggest improvements that will drive up the overall quality of our game.
Besides the above we’re looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:
A relevant showreel of your audio work is required;
Several years of voice design experience from the video game industry;
(Ideally, you have more than 3-years’ experience)
Previous experience from major productions through to release;
(ideally, you have credits on at least 1-major video game title)
Relevant degree in an Audio field, or the equivalent work experience;
Proficient with post-production i.e processing voices for cleanup, special effects, and loudness standards;
Experience with recording voice talent and voice direction;
Experience with performance capture shoots;
Knowledge of audio processing & software (Reaper, PT, Izotope RX etc.);
Knowledge of Wwise audio-middleware;
Knowledge of audio capabilities and limitations of the different gaming platforms.

- Be a key sound design contributor within our Audio Team
- Create and implement sound assets like weapons, items, characters, environment, ambience, UI and VO
- Help planning and organized audio tasks
- Communicate effectively with artists, designers and programmers about the audio needs for our games and make sure they are consistent with the vision
- Occasional recording of sound effects and production planning
- Help testing and Quality Control of in-game audio assets


Requirements

- 3+ years experience creating sound for (AAA) games
- Experience implementing game audio using Wwise
- Proficiency with modern computer-based audio production tools such as Ableton Live, Cubase, Reaper, WaveLab, Sound Forge and similar
- Excellent and organizational, planning and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and share knowledge
- Experience in leading a team is a plus
- Used to work with a major game engine. Knowledge of Unreal and Blueprints is a plus
